It only took us a few years, but we finally have a raised bed with dirt and vegetables in it. We borrowed a truck from our friend, Olivier, and got some cheap compost from the city. When Jeff got home we looked at each other like, okay - what now? Don't we need dirt? So off I went to the local nursery to ask all about how to start a raised veg garden. I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a cold weather garden, but I soon found out and came home with lots of little starter plants: spinach, lettuce, collards, brussels sprouts and broccoli. We had a fun time planting them... here's hoping that they grow before I need to plant my summer bed!
