Asheville Trip

We spent the weekend in Asheville with SaSa and Scott.  It was our first time getting a house - we usually get hotel rooms in town.  We found this house on a new site called vrb* for less than two dinky hotel rooms would have cost!  It was so nice... lush, big, yard, playset for the kids, hot tub, two fire pits, and a lot of charm.  And, Tyson could tag along : ) 

As usual, we did a lot of good eating, walking around town, and trying to chill out (as much as you can with two kids in tow). 

First stop was at a movie theater turned pizza place/video arcade.  Lucas's idea of heaven on Earth : )

Then, we checked out our new house...

Tyson even got to spend time with his cousin, Hero.  The dog outside the fence was a friendly dog that stalked us all weekend.  We finally learned that he had jumped over his fence, which was a few blocks away... his name was Jacob.

The next day we headed to the arboretum. 

The next morning Jeff and I snuck out for a run while the rest of the gang hung out at the house.  Apparently Ellen was Scott's buddy for the morning : )

While Lucas worked on a robot puzzle that SaSa got him...

Later that day we attempted a family hike on a mountain trail.  The drive on the Bl*e Ridge Pkwy was nice, but Ellen just wasn't in a hiking mood.  Not sure any 3yr old woud have been.  And it was hot.  Oh well, there is always next year...

But the views were so pretty!

Later that night we had dinner and ice cream in town.  As usual, Ellen amazed us at how bad she is at eating ice cream cones!
