I was very excited about Easter this year because we've never really done the Easter Bunny thing with Lucas. It's always fallen around his bday and we've been too tired to fool with it. This year Easter was ON his bday, but we wanted to play up the Easter Bunny because we knew he'd love it. We got our pic made with the bunny last week (I'll post later), so he was thinking that that exact bunny was coming to his house - it was cute. Though he was wondering why the bunny didn't talk.
We adopted a new tradition this year. We colored eggs on Saturday night and left the eggs in their baskets for the Easter Bunny. The Bunny, when he arrived, hid the baskets and the eggs and left a few goodies for the kids.
Here is what the Easter Bunny left for them. A Jellycat animal for each. When Lucas saw this he grabbed the pink pig and Sandy and I looked at each other in alarm... but then he gave it to Ellen and said, "Here you go Ellen, this is for you." And he got the elephant because he has been saying he wanted a "bunny" like Ellen's for months. There are a few pieces of candy and then a new toothbrush for each.
Here is the kid discovering his basket of goodies:
And Ellen with her new pig, not really sure what the big deal is...
Lucas found their baskets in the bathtub and was taking Ellen her basket so they could start the hunt for the eggs that they colored the night before...
