We love bunny. He is now 1 yr and 3 months old, assuming his life began when he was purchased for Ellen's first Christmas. We recently bought a back up bunny. Lucas has been saying for a year that he wants a bunny just like Ellen's, so I bought one thinking that it could be used as a back up because EVERYONE comments on how we need one. Jeff said he thought that Lucas having one would cheapen Ellen's special one, so I was just going to put it up when it arrived. However, that night Ellen through Bunny #1 into the tub, so we pulled out Bunny #2 for the first time. She looked at it funny, but didn't reject it. The next day Lucas saw it and claimed it as his own. Since then (2wks ago) it's gone back and forth between the two of them, whenever needed. One night, in the wee hours of the morning, Ellen woke up and must have realized that she had Bunny #2. She disappeared from the room, and I must have dozed off, because when she returned she had Bunny #1, which I know was downstairs when I went to bed... so she was roaming the house looking for her pal. Last night she saw Bunny #2 on the floor, picked it up and ran to Lucas with it extended calling, "Doo-tus!" and then she through at him. So she has officially made her choice - Bunny #1 is her buddy and she doesn't want a back up.

That is so sweet. She'll be able to keep that bunny for the rest of her life and maybe give it to her baby one day. I wish my kids had something like that!
