While we were waiting for everyone to have a bathroom break, we had a snack break on a bench. Lucas talked Sasa into giving him her iPhone and got to work on perfecting his Angry Bird skills.

As you can see, Ellen loves cuddling up with Aunt Susan!

In the last picture you can see that I'm wearing a heart-shaped pendant. Lucas made it for me out of paper mache... it's amazing! They also made us little a special bracelet for us to wear for the weekend.

I was happy that I was able to get a few family shots since it was so nice to have family in this week. We really do love it when we have visitors!

Saturday

Like I said, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing and eating meals when Susan is around. I was able to capture in this picture how much fun it is! Ellen was cracking up at something Sandy was saying : )

We also like to go to coffee shops when our Aunty Sue is here. Sandy and I aren't too hard to convince to grab a latte and muffin. The lady went with us today. (3rd pic below)

Later that day we decided to go to the Farmer's Market. Not the best idea for a beautiful spring Saturday! But we were able to get in a little picnic snack and buy some flowers and stuff for dinner.

More front yard fun...

We are loving the spring, pre-mosquito weather we are having right now! We spent a lot of time outside tonight after dinner. Ellen got tired and took it upon herself to go get her binky and bunny : ) She sat in this chair and watched us run with Lucas in the front yard. Visitors wear her out!

Mommy Muffin Day

Lucas's teachers are AWESOME. They come up with the best ideas. Jeff got to go to Daddy Donut day a few weeks ago, so today I got to go to Mommy Muffin Day, in honor of Mother's Day. I always enjoy going to his classroom, especially when the other moms are there - they are all so nice.

Family!

We have visitors! And we love it. Aunt Susan (Jeff's mom's sister) flew in yesterday from Seattle and then Scott and Sandy (Jeff's brother and mom) arrived today. When they are in town we cook a lot, since Susan is an excellent cook and can make something good out of anything, and spend a lot of time outside.

As you can see in the first picture, Ellen took right to Susan. She snuggled up against her in no time. Susan has a broken toe and Ellen is very interested in her "boo-boo."

Ellen also loves Uncle Scott. She sat him right down and asked him what he wanted to eat!

And of course Lucas loves having another playmate at home. They wasted no time getting out the light sabers. Scott always brings the kids generous gifts. This time he gave Lucas one of his old action figures. Lucas thought it was the coolest gift ever.

The weather has been perfect. This evening we spent a lot of time in our front yard and the porch. Jeff, Scott, Lucas and me played a great game of freeze tag. Jeff and I are sure that it will be one of his greatest childhood memories : )

Another Baby Lover

In the previous post I said how much Ellen likes to hold babies. Lately Lucas has become a lot more aware/interested in them too. Our little friend, Berkeley, came over today for lunch with her mommy. Lucas and Ellen loved playing with her. It surprised me how interested Lucas was though. He ran to the playroom and got her a couple of toys and then tried to make her laugh. Too bad he probably won't have another baby brother or sister to play with : ) Two kids feels right for now.

Holding A Baby

Ellen really likes to touch baby toes and hold little babies when she gets the chance. Our neighbors across the street have a little sweetie that she is especially fond of right now. What is funny, though, is how serious she is about it! Once she gets that baby in her hands she puts on her work face and hardly moves!

Sunday Morning Nature Walk

We went with Jeff this morning on his Sunday morning run. He ran, we walked. Adam, Holly, Katie and Tyler were there too! Holly and I figured that we ruined a lot of peaceful walks from screaming, "RED LIGHT!" to Lucas and Katie as they ran too far ahead of us : )

Last minute dinner...

Tonight we went out for dinner at the last minute. We got to sit outside and everyone sat still for most of the meal, so it was nice : ) We walked around a little afterwards in the shopping center. Lucas wanted to jump to Jeff from this high wall... and guess who had to do it too?

Tractors

Ellen loves tractors and trucks... much more than Lucas ever did. She loves it when we pass them while driving and was thrilled to see one our walk today.

Tornado Damage

Yesterday we wanted a little greenway hike, so we headed to our new favorite place. We were disappointed to see that the tornados that ripped through here a week ago really damaged this spot. You could see the path the tornado took, flattening trees completely. And the river is full of trash now. We realized how lucky we were because this spot is only 2-3 miles from our house, which is nothing when you're talking about a monster sized tornado.

A Tomboy Princess?

I know, the binky is for bedtime... it hadn't quite made it to it's spot for the day yet.
