Things that LB is saying now...

"My eat food. Baby eh-win eat mommy milk."

"No, my do it!"

"I have an idea." - this is new. We were watching youtube videos today and he said this every time he wanted to watch a new one. "I have an idea. Let's watch dis one!"

"My kiss her?" - her being Miss Ellen.

"okay" - he says this in a matter-of-fact tone. It's hard to explain on the blog, but so cute.

"Ma-mia" - this is what he is calling me now. Don't know why. He used to call me "mah-ME-mah-MUH" - sounds like a french kid.

"Remember dis...? - he says this a lot lately. Sometimes it's about something that happened recently like, "remember when da train crashed?" or sometimes it's about something that happened months ago like "remember when da tree fell down and Mr. Craig helped fisk it?"

"my fisked it" - for fixed it.

"dis mines" - he hears us saying "that's dada's" so he thinks he has to add an "s" as well.

"dat dat dat dat dat dat dat dat is my seat!" - when he gets excited he says the first word of the sentence many times before he can get the rest of the sentence out.

"My can't do it! - we've heard this a lot this weekend related to his new train and putting the tracks together. He will definitely be the kid that throws his bat when he strikes out!

"Baby Sister wake-id up!" - when he hears Ellen waking up.

"My not tired ma-mia."

And finally, conversation heard at the dinner table this weekend between Lucas and Uncle Scott:

Lucas: "My found worm. It pink. My put in creek. Find it mama."

Scott: "That's cool. Did you eat it?"

Lucas, very seriously: "NO, don't eat worms. Only food and water. Okay?!"

Santa's Helper

Christmas Day Afternoon & Evening

Merry Christmas!!!

Santa came to our house last night! When I was little my parents used to make a big deal about keeping us contained in one room while he went down to make sure that Santa had came and get the video camera ready. We did this same thing this morning. Lucas slept in until almost 9am. When he woke up Sandy, Scott and I gathered at the top of the stairs while Jeff filmed us walking down. We were asking Lucas what he thought Santa brought him. When he turned the corner and saw the train he ran to it and said, "Santa brought me dis!" We seriously could have been done with Christmas morning and gifts at that point!

Here we are taking our time opening gifts. The way we did it growing up was that everyone would open one gift at a time so that it lasted longer... the Johnson family loves to drag out the excitement. Jeff's family didn't do that, so I had to make everyone slow down.

Miss Ellen slept through all of the gift opening, so her big brother opened her gifts for her. She may be out of luck because the gift that Lucas picked out for her (a stuffed bunny), he has claimed as his own (this figures - I've been trying to get him attached to a lovey type thing for over 2 years!).

Here is SaSa with the little angel...

And Lucas with his mama!

Like I said, Lucas could have played with this all morning and not opened any other gifts (thanks Jenn and Neil for suggesting this!)

We finally talked him in to moving on and opening the other gifts...

I really missed my family this year! They sent Lucas and Ellen a lot of gifts, so I tried to get Lucas opening some of them so that they could feel like they were more of a part of his Christmas...

Jeff was excited to get Lucas a tee ball stand, bat and glove for Christmas. Lucas made contact on his first swing - he's a natural! We have to get this outside right away before he nails Ellen in the head!

I can't tell who liked the Geo Trax more - Lucas or Tyson! Seriously, Tyson has a weird thing about sitting in the middle of the tracks.

After the tee ball stand Lucas opened his glove... and didn't really care about it.

And we were finally done with the gifts...

After opening presents (forever) we had the traditional Johnson breakfast - sausage (veggie), eggs, hashbrowns - and then some yummy pastries to go with it. Lucas was bummed after he ate 4 pieces of sausage and there was no more. I wish he'd eat like that every morning!

Next Lucas wanted to go outside, so he put on his new rain boots and rain coat since it rained all night (and is 60 degrees, by the way)...

And then Lucas and I played outside for a long time - it was a lot of fun.

And even though Lucas got many new toys, he chose to play with this old watering can for an hour after breakfast : )

Chritmas Eve

We made cookies for Santa! Lucas took this very seriously, especially when it came to putting ALL of the sprinkles on the cookies!

We were all excited to see that the cookies were ready, but we had to let them cool off before we put them on the plate for Santa. Lucas helped by blowing on them...

And we couldn't forget the reindeer! Lucas put out this food so that Santa's reindeer could find our house and have a snack.

The rest of the evening...

It was a tradition in my family growing up for my parents to sneak away and ring a bell to signal that Santa's sleigh was nearby and it was time for us to go to bed. I was excited to do this with Lucas this year since it was the first year that he could understand. We got a video and will post it later. Uncle Scott rang the bell on the front porch and Lucas got a surpised look on his face and then wanted to see outside. I don't think he totally got it, but did go outside and look in the sky to see if he could see Santa's sleigh.
After he went to bed at 8:30 we wrapped presents and put together Lucas's main gift from Santa... Geo Trax. We were all pretty zonked at the end of the night... even Tyson!

Black and White Pics

Our house isn't well lit, which we think is cozy, but I'm having a hard time getting any good pics of Ellen like I did with Lucas in our other house because of it. Anyway, I took these pics and decided they looked better in b/w. They were too orange or something the other way. Don't you just love this little round face?
