We took Lucas in for his 4 month checkup yesterday. He weighed 14lbs 10oz, which we were surprised by - we were sure he was a 16 pounder. Nurse Janet said that all parents think their baby is bigger than they actually are. He is 25 inches long and his head is 16 1/8 inches around. His weight, compared to other boys his age, falls at 50%, his length at 55% and his little head at 25%. Dr. Wiles said that all that means is that he'll take a smaller hat size.
The appointment was about 40 min long, so for the first 25 min or so we just talked to the nurse and doctor. During this time Lucas was happy and just looking all around, making eye contact with them so they would smile at him. We asked if his constant moving was an indication of his personality and Dr. Wiles said, yes, that we probably will have a little Type A on our hands.
After talking a while, Dr. Wiles wanted to listen to his heart, check his eyes, ears, etc. When he laid Lucas on the table Lucas gave him a few warning huffs and puffs, and then he let Dr. Wiles have it, screaming at him until he let him sit back up. We all laughed and Dr. Wiles said that we just have to teach him to channel his energy differently :-)
