Baby Lucas is now 4 months old! The fourth month has really been fun for us. Lucas has learned to do so much this month - laugh, roll over both ways, grasp toys, reach for toys, chew on hands non-stop, chew on toes, and baby talk and squeal. And thankfully, he only seems to fuss when he's tired, hungry or bored - but we try to anticipate these feelings and are getting better at it.
He is still an on-the-go little guy. He is trying his hardest to sit up - when he lays down on his back he lifts his little head and feet up at the same time and strains his face like he's trying really hard to lift his head up higher. He is always moving his arms and his legs, so much that we wonder what's wrong if he's just chillin' out. Oh yeah, another cute thing that Lucas is doing is playing shy. When he wakes up from a nap, especially, if you smile at him he grins and then turns his head and buries it in the shoulder of who is holding him. It's one of our favorite things right now.
Another break through, as I kind of posted about earlier, is that Lucas is managing with people other than his mom and dad. Our nanny starts this week, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that he likes her and that she can feed him and put him to sleep.
Speaking of sleep, Lucas is doing pretty well, but we know that this could change any second, so we're not getting our hopes up. For now, however, he gets up around 7am, stays up 2 hrs, naps for 1-2 hrs, stays up 2 hrs, naps for 1 hr, etc, with the naps getting shorter each time until he goes to bed for the night around 9pm. During the night he is still waking up every 3 hours to eat, but we've gotten into a routine, so it doesn't keep any of us from getting good sleep (most nights).
