Happy Birthday Daddy!
Jeff turns 30 today! Lucas wanted to show his love by creating a sign, but was disappointed in his mommy's lack of creativity...

Window Shots
Monkey Boy
Into EVERYTHING
Here is Mr. Lucas getting into a plant in our kitchen (that we've now moved out of his reach). Last week when I took him to get his flu shot I had to take off his diaper to show the doctor a rash that he has around his leg...anyway, when I took off the diaper there was dirt in there from where he had tried to eat it and it had fallen down his shirt. Oh well, didn't we learn in kindergarten that god made dirt and dirt won't hurt?

Mozilla Firefox
If you've never heard of this, you can stop reading.
This is an internet browser, similar to Internet Explorer. Jeff likes Firefox, but I like Explorer. This blog looks the way I want it to in Explorer, but doesn't look centered and some of the pics are missing on Firefox.
This is just a disclaimer to let you know that if you are using Firefox that I'm not a blog idiot. I'll try to figure out why one works and the other doesn't....until then, maybe you could view the blog in Explorer...thanks.

Merry Christmas!
We had a great Christmas in Atlanta. We stayed at my Grandmother's house with my parents. Jenn, Neil and Ty were able to spend two nights there and Bryan, Angela and Wesley were able to spend one night. We also got to see Sandy, Dennis and Scott for Christmas dinner. We were lucky to get to see so much family this year.
I was surprised by how much Lucas enjoyed himself on Christmas day. My fam tradition is to leave the Santa gifts unwrapped. Jeff's tradition is to wrap them. Since we were behind on the wrapping and Lucas didn't know this year, we left everything unwrapped...especially since he got other wrapped gifts. We all got up on Christmas morning and were waiting for everyone to gather in the living room so that we could video Lucas and Ty seeing what Santa brought. We must have forgotten that Lucas is into everything, because the next thing we knew he was standing in his "section" and playing with his new singing table. He played for the next 5 hours, plowing right through his morning nap, then again for hours in the afternoon. I feel bad for not having more of these toys before Christmas!
I'll post pics of different portions of our trip after this, but here are some pics from Christmas day. Somehow we managed to take a million pics of Lucas and not any of our family or everyone that was there....Lucas is a camera hog!

Weight Update
At 8 1/2 months, Lucas weighs 9lbs and 12oz, which is still right around 50%. He had to go to the doc for a flu shot last week. I took the camera so I could get a picture of him on the baby scale, but it was too crowded to do that, so I'll hopefully get that shot at his 9 month appointment. Here is a pic of Lucas and me being silly in the room while were waiting to see the doctor.

Curious Lucas
Here is our little monkey pulling all of the books off of the bookshelf in his room. He is into everything! I bet all babies are like this, but Lucas is just so curious. He is constantly looking around soaking everything in and his arms are always dancing around trying to touch everything. We dressed him as a monkey for Halloween because when we hold him he twists and turns in our arms like a little monkey, and when he's on the ground he is moving thing to thing pulling up, plopping down, pulling up....and he sometimes crawls on his hands and feet...so he's our little monkey.

Sweet Faces
Lucas now has many expressions and little faces that he makes. I followed him around with a camera yesterday because I got worried that he was going to stop making some of these sweet faces and I wouldn't have captured them. We joke that the first one is his nerdy (but so cute and sweet) pose because he has his hair slicked over to the side. The second one is his, "Hi, Mommy and Daddy, I'm so glad to see you" look....

Kindermusik
Lucas is still going to Kindermusik class every Saturday morning from 9:30-10:15. He has continued to really enjoy it. They give us a CD at the beginning of each session, so we are able to sing and dance to the songs at home. This is great for me because for months the only song I knew was the ABC song. The current family favorite song goes something like this, "Skin-a-ma-rink-a-dink-a-doo, Skin-a-ma-rink-a-doo, I love you....I love you in the morning and in the afternoon, I love you in the evening underneath the moon...". It's a lot of fun and Lucas giggles a lot when we are singing and dancing, which is every mommy's goal. Here are some pics that were taken of Lucas and me in class. You can see Jeff enjoying class if you click on the Kindermusik link to the right...

Baby Christmas Party
Yesterday Lucas went to his first Christmas party. Jeff and I got to tag along since we were his ride. This get together was different from any of the last ones because the babies were crawling all over the place. We may never get another picture with just the babies....
