Ellen's 2 Year Well Visit

The Lady Bird had her 2yr visit with Dr. W this week. She had a ball. She was the only patient in the office, so Nurse J said she didn't mind if Ellen explored in the hallway while she got her papers together. Ellen took full advantage. She was hopping, singing, and dancing around the office and pointing out all of the animals on the walls. When Dr. W came out of his office and was preparing to come into our room, she took an interest in him and was working for his attention. She showed him her booboo that Moses gave her (scratch) and asked him "What is that" about many items on the counter.
When Dr. W settled into our room, the first thing he commented on was how she is still tiny, but that he wasn't concerned because she's still growing on the same curve. He was concerned, however, that she is slightly anemic. A 9 on a scale where anything below 10 indicates a concern. He suggested that Ellen take an iron supplement for 2 months and then come to him for a recheck in 3 months. I told him that we don't eat much meat or dairy and he said that was fine, but that we had to make sure she was getting the nutrients that she needed, obviously.
The rest of the visit was fine. No shots, just a finger prick. Ellen continued to show off. When he asked if she could jump, she jumped. When he asked if she could throw, she threw something that she had taken out of my purse.
He asked if we could understand half of what she said. I said that I understand everything that she says, but not sure that a stranger could. He asked if she was saying sentences, which she is.. two examples are : "what is that?", "here-ya-go, mama." That seemed to satisfy him.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 21 lbs and 14.75 oz (less than 5%)
Length: 33.5" (40%)
Head Circum: 19.75 (55%)
